New Jersey Alliance of Family Support Organizations

COVID-19 Update

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Governor Phil Murphy's stay-at-home order, the New Jersey Alliance of Family Support Organizations (NJAFSO) has implemented modifications to our operations. The organization is currently operating remotely.

The NJAFSO and its Trainers will continue to provide technical support to the Family Support Organizations remotely using audiovisual platforms or telephone. Family Support Partner Certification Trainings will be postponed while the NJAFSO simultaneously works to deliver the trainings virtually in the future. If you need to contact the NJAFSO, we can be reached at our office number: 609-310-1220.

We hope everyone continues to stay safe!

NJ Governor Threatens to Cut Family Support, Families Speak Out! (Watch Video)

New Jersey families, working together with the NJ Alliance of Family Support Organizations, community-based organizations, and other system partners have released the first two in a series of video testimonials advocating for continued funding of Family Support Organizations state-wide. Unfortunately, Governor Phil Murphy is currently recommending a 15% cut across the board for all family support services provided through the NJ Department of Children and Families.

The parents whose children need these services are committed to making their voices heard. They know first-hand that, even in these difficult times, Family Support Organizations are doing vital work for their communities with programs that consistently help, teach, support and care for the families of children with intellectual, emotional and/or developmental disabilities.

What can you do to help? Contact your State legislator and Governor Murphy and tell them how important Family Support Organization services are to you and your family.
